The World Will End on Sunday! For the 3rd Time!

Folks on the far Left ought to be worried they will run out of firepower. They have been firing howitzers and dropping bombs on modest targets. If and when they confront genuinely big targets they will have used up their weaponry.

The weaponry, of course, is the rhetoric. They have filled the airwaves, newsprint, the internet and social media with the maximum claims. They have pulled out all the stops – all the hyperbole bombs.

Trump is not merely a guy who makes policies they don’t like.  He is a Hitler. Those who vote for him are Nazis. This is what NBC tells the world. Literally.

Trump’s policy was to continue to separate alien adults from their children when they illegally enter this country. Continue. The policy was President Obama’s. Trump has since rescinded it. But while he was continuing Obama’s policy he was called a Hitler. The holding areas were called “internment camps”. By a senator, no less. Later the rhetoric soared. The “internment camps” became “concentration camps”.

Lately the President has become a “dictator” to various figures on the far Left.

Meanwhile, the White House Press Secretary is not simply a figure many in the press dislike. She and her family deserve harassment in public. So sayeth a few politicians. So sayeth a Washington Post reporter on NBC. The reporter called for organized mobs to give the Press Secretary a “life sentence” of public harassment because she has “no right to live” a peaceful existence.

Maxine Waters calls on mobs to “turn on” Trump officials in public. This is big weaponry.

Meanwhile various entertainers have spit out utterly vile insults of the President, his staff and fans.

And now the Left sees tragedy because Justice Kennedy is retiring. And Trump “will blow up” the Supreme Court as we know it with his choice for a new justice. Michael Moore is calling for a million protestors to keep the Senate from voting on Trump’s nominee. This was BEFORE Trump named anyone! How big is this weapon? Moore asked “What would you give your life for?”  The NY Times reckons millions face the future in fear because of the new justice. Again, BEFORE one was nominated.

Two thoughts.  One is that the script writers for the far Left surely came from ad agencies that wrote those godawful used car commercials. “Absolutely the lowest prices we have ever offered!” “You will never in your lifetime see a better deal than this!”  “If we don’t sell 500 cars this month we will go bankrupt!”

Some of them wrote ads for supermarkets too. In which new and improved products were at the lowest ever prices.

Some of them came from the nightly news crew. The ones who proclaim “BREAKING NEWS! CAT STRANDED UP TREE IN PEORIA! NIGHT CLOSING IN.”

Does anyone believe those ads? Do we all shift into emergency gear when we hear “Breaking News!” Of course not. Because we have all heard this garbage all our adult lives. We are numbed by the exposure and repetition. If a car dealer ever really does slash prices “to the absolute bone!” he won’t convince us.

Which leads to the second thought. What is Michael Moore going to call for, come the day a president anoints a real scoundrel for the bench? What will the NY Times howl when some president gives the nod to a Neanderthal of a judge?

Next time a genuine dictator dumps Jews into barbaric camps with gas chambers and incinerators, what will the Left cry out? That the guy is another Trump?  That the camps are as bad as Trump’s (and Obama’s)?

These days the Left is like the kid who cried “Wolf!” too often. When the wolf finally appeared, nobody believed him. Michael Moore is like one of those guys who proclaims the world is going to end on a given weekend.  It almost does, when the Yankees thump the Bosox twice.

But next time the guy tells us the end is nigh we say “Nah”. The prophet fired off his biggest cannon. All it did was ruin our hearing. We are deaf to his future blasts.
